Educational goal
The goal of the Department is to train our students to integrate and manage the information system with solid proficiency. Through overall implementation and application of the study, our students will be fully prepared to practice what they learn in different fields of business and organizations. Further, being able to keep the rapid pace of information technology, our students will be active in planning the future blueprint of worldwide net and e-commerce, and to help the government with the implementation of business automation.

Courses
Junior courses, emphasizing on Introduction to Information Technology, Introduction to Information Management, and fundamental knowledge of Management.
Senior courses, focusing on the integration of IT and Management System, jointed with Information System Analysis and Design, Business Management and case operation.
Other related courses, laying stress on internet management and maintenance, analyzing information techniques toward information management and organization influence, discussion on e-commerce's theories and practical experience, as well as exploring related topics on internet and intranet operations.
Vision
A. Students are expected to master IT (Information Technology) :
They are trained to have not only the ability to deal with the latest IT but also sense the future development.
B. Students are expected to take the mission of future:
The future development in Taiwan depends on the solid information structure. Therefore, students are required to foresee the mission, and to localize the information all over Taiwan.
C. Students are expected to value humanity:
It is a subject connected with both machine and human beings, of which the top goal relies on the human-oriented service.
D. Students are expected to breed novel ideas for management:
The concept of management is based on a long-term process of education. Students should keep the inquisitive mind for the whole life.

Features of the Department
1. Students in our department are trained to apply what they learn through special case operation, in which they are able to integrate different professions from various fields, and further studies are also encouraged after the case application.
2. In responding the era of world-wide-net communication, students are required to master the skills of internet planning, building up and managing, so that they have broader choices in studies and future careers.
3. To follow the tendency of automation promoted by our government, we emphasize the application and development of business automation and e-commerce. Meanwhile, Accounting Information System and Marketing Management System are offered to help students become competitive to deal with various managing challenges in business and be able to expertise their professions.
4. We value the project cooperation with industries and businesses, by which students can not only practice both theory and application but also possess the abilities to organize and analyze any possible solution for each case.

Faculty & Facilities
The Department of Information Management at Kuang Wu Institute of Technology was established in 1994. To meet various training need of courses and programs, the Department has been teamed with excellent faculty, who are outstanding doctors or masters of Information Management and related fields, teaching theories as well as operation skills. Among them, we have 3 full-time associate professors, 3 full-time Assistant professors, 22 full-time lecturers and 1 technician. Besides, part-time lecturers are also dedicated members of this big family.
Our facilities are well equipped with one Management Information System Lab, one Computer Network Lab, one Business Automation Lab, one Special Topics Lab and one E-commerce Lab (Long-distance teaching program). We shall keep adding up the service by building up Software Engineering Lab and a Database Management System Lab for our students. With every effort we make, we are highly positive to promote to the Department's upgrade into the university program.
