Vision
  To enable our university become an excellently innovative and practical one renowned for its outstanding performance in the field of innovation in business and management.

Mission
  Our mission is to accomplish the objective of cultivating innovative and practical professionals with expertise in business and management and features of honesty and integrity.

Education Objective
  To achieve our purpose and the educational objectives, namely the cultivation of sincere, reliable, innovative, practical and competitive professionals who specialize in business and management, this university seeks to equip its students with five specific qualities. As shown in Figure 1-1, these are professional capacity, a sense of sincerity, reliability and ethics, innovative potential, practical skills, and competitiveness for employment. Basically, each department of this college has drawn upon these five specific qualities in developing its educational objectives. The five specific qualities that our overall educational objectives are designed to develop are as follows:
1. Professional Capacity:
  In keeping with the educational objectives of each department, students are expected to equip themselves with the fundamental theory, knowledge and capacities related to business and management in order to meet the needs of all fields of industry and business.
2. A Sense of Sincerity, Reliability and Ethics
  Students are expected to develop a sense of sincerity, reliability and ethics, essential characteristics for anyone who wishes to deal successfully with people or be competitive in any industry or business in modern society.
3. Innovative Potential
  All students are encouraged to initiate their own creative and innovative thinking and are guided effectively to develop their innovative potential in preparation for their future careers.
4. Practical Skills:
  Drawing on their developing professional capacity, students are encouraged to develop competitive practical hands-on skills applicable to industry and management.
5. Capacities and Competitiveness for Employment:
  Upon graduation, students are well-equipped with capacities and competitiveness for employment in areas such as applying for a job, adapting to a workplace, communicating and negotiating, working cooperatively with others as a team member, and applying what they have learned to their future occupations.

College Positioning
  With the emphasis placed on innovation by our school, the College of Business and Management (CBM), together with the College of Engineering and the College of Human Ecology all devote themselves to encouraging a climate of innovation and playing their individual roles to support each other. Guided by this concept, CBM aims to commercialize the products invented by the faculty of the College of Engineering and provides innovative methods of business management for leisure-related industries, such as tourism, hospitality, food & beverage management, and sports health & recreation.

Fields of Focus
  In addition to commercializing invented products and providing service, CBM also aims to include four other aspects into our areas of specialization: innovation in the areas of technology, organization, business modeling and entrepreneurship.

Departments Facts
  A total of six departments and one institute are housed in the College of Business and Management. The primary objective of this College is to foster students’ knowledge, pragmatic application and practical ability in fields related to the business and management and to develop their integrity and innovation as well. The College includes the Department of Business and Management, the Department of Information Management, the Department of International Trade, the Department of Applied Foreign Languages, the Department of Financial and Economic Law, the Department of Digital Multi-media Design and the Institute of Electronic Commerce
 1.Department of Information management
  With the fast-changing development, application and integration of the information technology, the Department of Information Management intends to train students in cultivating their professional abilities of information technology and business management both in theory and practice, especially in the electronization of enterprises. The goal of this department will help and promote the related industries of information management to have further development in our country.
 2.Department of International Business
  To follow the economic policy of government and to help the development of regional industries, the Department of International Business places emphasis on cultivating students with international business abilities to meet the professional requirements of business and skills of logistics operation transportation. The Department attempts to, in its great efforts, help their graduates equipped with the professional competence for international trade and technological application to meet the need of modern society.
 3.Department of Business Administration
  The Department of Business Administration sets its goal under two categories: “innovation for product-marketing” and “innovation for service-marketing.” The former one focuses on the commercialized marketing for the related products of patent research and development from College of Engineering. The later goal follows the direction of the development of leisure activities of College of Human Ecology and strengthens the application of the service-innovative marketing.
 4.Department of Applied Foreign Languages
  To meet the need of people with foreign languages speaking abilities in modern society, the Department of Applied Foreign Languages sets its goals to cultivate its students with the foreign language competence in innovative, practical and useful perspectives, especially in the fields of commerce and tourism.
 5.Department of Digital Multimedia Arts
  The Department of Digital Multimedia Arts sets its goal to cultivate students with abilities in both integrating multimedia production and expressing the concept of art designing, both stressing on the perspectives of innovation, practice, usefulness. With its hope to help students get familiar with the practices of operation of diverse digital multimedia and cultivate their abilities in the integration of interdisciplinary, the Department places emphases on the multimedia productions in the platforms of websites which centers on building the positive interactive relationships. Moreover, with the goal to help students get familiar with diverse computer designing platforms and improve the way to express their ideas and conceptions through digital multimedia arts, the Department of Digital Multimedia Arts tries to enhance the levels of courses of graphic designing and animation designing.
 6.Department of Financial and Economic Law
  The Department of Financial and Economic Law aims to enhance students’ abilities to successfully pass the exam for the official duty, apply for jobs in enterprises and get the opportunities to study further abroad. The department has its course-arrangement policy based on the references from the major universities in Taiwan. It also stresses on the Law learning with the course-arrangement in second language training both in English and Chinese. The Department also keeps the most up-date development of theories and interpretation in the academic field and its application and practice.
 7.Institute of Electronic Commerce
  To follow the trend of the networking of information, internationalization of business, and the electronization of Enterprise Logistics, the Institute of Electronic Commerce provides help and information for local technological official organizations and private enterprises. To meet the requirement of development of economic and commerce in our country, this institute aims to cultivate students to become insightful middle-and-high-class managers with e-commerce research and management abilities.

College Development Feature
  The College of Business and Management seeks to integrate its member departments, and to engage in teaching, research and service related to business innovation and management.

Required Curriculum
  To achieve its goal of developing talented graduates, the College of Business has developed a curriculum; which includes 4 required courses, (8 credit points). The goal of the College is to cultivate talented business and administrative personnel who display honesty, innovation, pragmatism, and practical skills. The college curriculum aims to equip our students with the following five qualities: professional capacity for business and administration, honesty and integrity, innovative potential, practical skills and employment abilities. For the university-level students, the college required courses are as followed:
1. Freshman Year (1): Integrity and Ethics for Enterprises (2 credit points):
  This course will give students basic understanding of introduction to enterprises, laws, integrity and ethics. It will also familiarize students with employment, and starting a business.
2. Freshman Year (2): Management (2 credit points):
  This course sets the learning foundation for management and facilitates students’ further learning in the area of innovative management.
3. Sophomore Year (1) Innovative Management (2 credit points):
  This course reflects the central curriculum focus of this college.
4. Sophomore Year (2) Lectures on Enterprise Practicing and Management (2 credit points):
  This course is oriented toward employment, and start a business. Different business-related professionals will be invited to give lectures in this program to help cultivate students’ employment capacities.

Prospects for Future Development
1. Future Plans for Institutes and Departments at CBM
  The College of Business and Management is committed to establishing a new degree program as well as an institute within five years, a commitment made to develop featured resources of our school and to meet the future needs of industries. To be founded in Academic Year 101, the Degree Program in Entertainment Arts is a four-year college program. It comes from the joint efforts of the Department of Digital Multimedia Design and other departments at CBM as well as the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the College of Human Ecology. In addition to the degree program, an Institute of Innovative Management will be established by CBM in Academic Year 102 and will offer a Master’s Weekend Program to meet future industrial needs. In addition, in Academic Year 103, the Institute of E-Commerce also plans to launch a Doctoral Degree Program.
2. Future Planning in the Main Fields of Development and Departmental Integration:
  In the near future, the six innovative fields being developed by the College of Business and Management will be integrated with the degree programs of the six departments, and the specialties of the graduate schools.
