Educational Objectives
The Institute of Mechatronic Engineering is mainly responsible for the education of masters majoring in mechatronic engineering and scientific research in related fields. It aims to develop advanced mechatronics technology and system by integrating interdisciplinary sciences of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, opto-electronics, and computer science. The faculty is committed to offer the professional courses and academia-industrial linking with local industries and instruct the students in the research of scientific papers and application of patent. The Mechatronic Engineering graduates will be with capabilities both in practical experiences and academic bases.

Research
Based on job market and industrial orientation, the Institute of Mechatronic Engineering has 4 curriculum modules to foster the student’s innate and professional skills, including the “Intelligent Mechatronic System”, ”Micro-Mechatronic and Semiconductor Manufacturing”, “Bio-Mechanics System”, and “Clean Energy Systems”. To meet the needs of the nation’s long-term development of automation technology and micro-mechatronics technology, the key research areas are focused on the integration of mechatronic technology, advanced automation system, precision manufacturing, electronic cooling, control and integration of micro-mechatronic systems, and design and manufacturing of micro-mechatronic systems.

Faculty
The teaching and research group of the Institute of Mechatronic Engineering is made-up of highly knowledgeable members from the departments of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and electronics engineering. Many projects have been successfully sponsored and implemented by the National Science Council and the Ministry of Education, and private enterprises. Therefore, with their knowledge and expertise of the top research fields, the Institute can offer an excellent environment for producing the elite engineers.
