Purpose
  The college holds the idea of training practical and professional engineer which is need of very practical use in the industry, take “Educate the professionals with the ability of obtaining engineering specialized certification and the ability to be an employee of industry” as the objective. Educate the student to study voluntarily and to develop the technology balanced with humanities that achieves the innovation practical professional is the teaching goal, strives the student practice practical education connotation and strengthen the teachers specialized ability and so on that complete the social mission of this university of technology.

Vision
  “The innovation research and development, study and application with unite” is the vision of the College of Engineering, and makes this school to become a well-known university of technology in the domain of “Science and technology innovation” and “Creativity invention”.

Education Objective
  In order to achieve the purpose of the College of Engineering “Educate the professionals with the ability of obtaining engineering specialized certification and the ability to be an employee of industry”, this college educate professional person with the following characteristics:
  1. Has the scientific and technological knowledge combined with the humanities, the ethics and the laws.
  2. Has the ability of obtaining engineering specialized certification and the ability to be an employee of industry.
  3. Has the ability of team work and the international view.

Development Orientation
  Combined with the educational goal which is "innovation" of this university, College of Engineering and College of Business and Management as well as College of Human Ecology will work together to play a comprehensive efficiency. The future development in teaching, research and service of this college will take commercialization of innovative products which is developed from the College of Business and Management as a guide, to develop "creative invention for product". In the other hand, this college will develop "service of science and technology innovation" that go together with the College of Human Ecology in the professional services for tourist and beverage and leisure.

Key Areas of Development
  In order to practice the vision of this college, the college integrates each department and related resources, plans four key areas of development, namely, Green Energy, Integrated Circuits Design and Embedded Systems, Intelligent Robots and Computer and Communications technology.

College Facts
  The College of Engineering (99 school year) has 5 departments, 1 research institute at the present time, based on the consideration of the characteristic resources of this school and the future industry demands, the college plans in five years, integrates each department and related resources and the characteristic, to build additionally “the entertainment product design curriculum” for university division. At present day, the total number of students in the College of Engineering is 3,795 included in the day school, the night school and the continuing education school.

Departments Facts
  The College of Engineering (99 school year) has 5 departments, 1 research institute at the present time, based on the consideration of the characteristic resources of this school and the future industry demands, the college plans in five years, integrates each department and related resources and the characteristic, to build additionally “the entertainment product design curriculum” for university division. At present day, the total number of students in the College of Engineering is 3,795 included in the day school, the night school and the continuing education school.
 Institute of Mechatronic Engineering
  The institute educational goal is to train research and development personnel in integration of mechanical and electrical system design for the requirements of Taiwan industry, through a variety of professional courses and industry-university cooperative research and development, guiding the students to engage in substantive research and thesis writing, training students to have the full development and design capabilities in both theoretical knowledge and innovation.
 Department of Mechanical engineering
  Set up five groups such as manufacturing, control, solid control, materials, and heat flux, with "computer-aided engineering" and "vehicle mechanical and electrical integration" as the core, complemented by "energy technologies", such that students have diverse learning choices, and oriented in cross fields and integration of applications, and encourages the teachers to cooperate among them, to form research teams, and assist the student to participate in the competitions and the international invention exhibition, and applying for patent.
 Department of Electrical Engineering
  1.Set up three groups such as electrical power, control, optoelectronic applications, such that students have diverse learning choices, and oriented in cross fields and integration of applications, and encourages the teachers to cooperate among them, to form research teams, and assist the student to participate in the competitions and the international invention exhibition, and applying for patent.
  2.Found a "robot Museum", to promote robot for the purpose of basic education, actively promote robot popular science education in schools at all levels, quite wins the high praise, the student besides received basic curriculum training, can also process through the introduction of robot exhibitions and science education, and learn professional knowledge and practical experience in this field.
 Department of Electronic Engineering
  Educate "students become electronic professionals with theoretical knowledge and practical ability " as a goal; and take "embedded and single chip system application", and "multimedia and wireless network application" as development area, implement students in practice of training, and get specialized certification and upgrade language ability, and encourage students actively participation in cooperation between schools and industries, practice topics, creative competitions and international invention exhibition, make students can became electronic professionals has the ability to be an employee of industries.
 Department of Computer and Communication Engineering
  In order to educate professional and technical personnel in computer and communications technology, this department set "wireless communication" as the overall goal, and the application of embedded chips as main frame, and train technology talents in communication engineering and signal processing as well as application of embedded system.
 Department of Chemical and Material Engineering
  Training professional talents in chemical engineering and materials related science and technology, besides the professional knowledge of chemical engineering and materials related science and technology areas, the practice-oriented skills as well as proper attitude for serving are also noticed, and inspiring students to think independently, to be creative and the ability of organization, such that to respond the trends and development in related knowledge of chemical engineering and materials science and technology and progress in related techniques.

College Development Feature
  The College of Engineering in this university integrates the resources and characteristics of each department, to engage with the key point of “Science and technology innovation” and “Creativity invention” in teaching, research and service as the main development features.

School Major Course
  In order to reach the college's educational goal, there are four additional major in course proposals planned by the college, the curriculums are introduced as follows:
 In fall semester for freshman:
  The general knowledge of engineering (2 hours): This course introduces background and theory of engineering about current industry that can establish general knowledge of engineering for the student.
 In spring semester for sophomore:
  Cultural creativity esthetics (2 hours): This course educates the student can take the culture as the foundation on esthetics training, and also can expand the characteristic curriculum of this college that develops student's study field of vision.
 In fall semester for junior:
  Ethics and attitude of employment (2 hours): This course establishes proper attitude and opinion of employment for student such that they are well prepared to be an employee.
 In spring semester for senior:
  Engineering practice (2 hours): This course will be taught by teachers with practical experience in turn, and invite engineers from industry or the graduation alumnus to give talks about related work experience, such that the student can promote its employment ability when graduates.
